There is only one way to be effective in the Christian life.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5
Apart from Him, we can do nothing. Second Peter 1 offers a beautiful exposition of this truth. It tells us that God’s divine power has granted to us all thing that pertain to life and godliness. In other words, all that we need to be effective has been provided to us. How do we access it? Through study and a persistent pursuit of God. If we study His Word, we will learn to know Him. When we know Him, we will know how He works and how we might join Him in His great will and purposes.
That’s why we have Big Word. We start again this week. As we explore 2 Kings, we will discover which of the ancient kings of Israel were distinct and how we can be distinct in our Christian lives today. I do hope you’ll join us.
If you can’t, find a study somewhere — online, in your town, in your living room. It doesn’t matter. Just dive into His Big Word.
Talk to me. Tell me one way that you’ve grown spiritually through Bible study. What excites you the most about God’s Word?
