Who’s caught up and happy?

Dori specifically asked me to do a Read with Me check-in today. As of yesterday, she was almost caught up. How are you today, girl?

And how is everyone else? Are you still with us?

I wish I could say I’m caught up, but I’m not. I wish I could say I’ve been reading, but I haven’t. I wish I could say all that is because I’m simply undisciplined and lazy. I may be undisciplined at times and I definitely have days of laziness, but lately my life has been so full. I have craved quiet times with God and simply haven’t found any.

The ironic bit about all of this is that I am scheduled to speak next month on rest. Yup. The title of my speech is “Finding Rest in a Restless World.” We booked the engagement a year ago having no idea what God would bring into my life between then and now. A year ago I thought I understood rest and peace, but God had so much more to teach me about it before I taught others about it.

Just imagine what I know now that He’ll teach me throughout the next year. I get excited just thinking about it.

  1. I’m still caught up – I’m chugging through Isaiah now (actually, I’m one day behind, but I’ll catch that up tomorrow since I don’t normally read on Sundays). Still truckin’ on…. : )

  2. I love that when your life is so FULL right now, you’ll be spaeking about finding rest……..God is awesome. makes us walk our talk! :)
And for the record, am so behind.

  3. Caught up and happy :) I’ve finally made a comeback on the long OT reading and the Psalms! Have been good on the rest for a while…but I am so so glad! Now I’m wondering about Stephanie in Isaiah! According to my chart you’re a MONTH ahead! Tanya, you’ll have to share with us what you speak about….I’ve been doing project after project and not feeling like I’m getting anywhere….I fnally decided to cut some of my “hopes” for the summer and give myself a deadline. With vacation and then September approaching, I feel like I’m going to miss the “rest” I thought I’d get in summer! But since I’m catching up with my devo’s, I guess that proves I am taking more time for the important stuff…..I think I’m just sick of feeling NOT done and not satisfied with myself! Would love to hear your wisdom!!!

  4. I’m almost caught up and am finally beginning to look forward to and enjoy reading the Old Testament. Thanks for sharing your difficulties in keeping up with the reading and in finding that elusive “rest”. Enjoy reading your blog.
