I was just listening to a sermon by Rob Bell yesterday while packing that amounted to finding GOD 'in the dailies'. My little detail would be the friendship I see between Paul and Barnabus. I see a bit of 'wind beneath my wings' going on where Barnabus is in the picture just long enough to help Paul get his footing and then Paul takes the stage HUGELY. I like the behind the scenes guy!
BTW. SQUEALED when I saw the book for the giveaway!

Sounds like an interesting book. A detail that was pointed out to me lately that I love is in Hebrews...talking about Jesus enduring the cross, "but despising the shame"....We are also called to endure a cross, but in the hard times, people try to heap shame on us...it was a good reminder/challenge to not allow what others say affect me so much!

My girls clamber for Jonah a lot these days. I am always struck by the non-flattering picture he paints of himself. He was brutally honest about his flagrant disobedience and rebellious attitude toward God. Would I be? We try to imagine what happened to his skin after three days in the fish's belly. (Not a pretty picture) And, I marvel that he would be singing during that time. It seems ironic, somehow.

I forgot to leave my 'detail'.
There is so much meaning to me in the short story of Abigail, who later became King David's wife, the kind of wife she chose to be even though it wasn't deserved.

I always check in at CCBR, especially lately. Books are my favorite presents to buy.
Do you guys ever do reviews of childrens books that are not published? Like if an 'author' sent you one to get your opinion on it? just wondering. :)
