More gifts for the "hard-to-shop-for" people
On Monday I talked about World Vision and how I would love to get a goat for Christmas. Today I want to mention a few more gift ideas for those people who seem to have everything or want nothing.
First, my friend Erica has a great list of sites on her blog. There are a number of gifts there, from handbags to jewelry, t-shirts and more. All of the links she provides and the organizations they represent benefit various causes: poverty, orphans, widows, slaves around the world and exploited girls. OneVerse: Last year I highlighted this program. It’s so cool! Samaritan’s Purse: You’re probably familiar with Samaritan’s Purse. They have a number of wonderful programs including Operation Christmas Child. They’re gift catalog includes blankets, food, livestock, fresh wells, education and sports gear, just like World Vision. But Samaritan’s Purse also offers you the opportunity to be involved in providing aid in crisis areas hit by natural disasters, providing a flight for a child who desperately needs a medical procedure, or helping young doctors get to the mission fields. Maxine: Thanks! I didn’t know about VOM doing that. I receive their literature; the kids and I pray through the maps they send. I knew about the Bibles and packages they send for adults, but I didn’t know about the Christmas Care Packs for kids. Very cool.
